Grupo Santa App

UX & Product Design - Role: Design Lead

An app that provided independency to the customers while lowering costs and frustration.

There are many opportunities to simplify hospital services while providing a better experience to the customers. Some activities such as scheduling appointments and viewing test results can easily find a more convenient way through tech solutions. In this case, Grupo Santa would be able to give independence to their customers while keeping the staff occupied with irreplaceable and more valuable activities to be done in person.

In other words, the bureaucratic and time-wasting scenario provided us the perfect field to act and think about the best experience we could deliver to the patients.

Goal

To provide a pleasant journey between the multiple services offered by the hospital.

Challenges and responsabilities

BACK-END IN ADVANCED STAGE AND COMPLEX USER JOURNEY

While the back-end was in an advanced stage when we started, it was necessary to improve the flow between the screens and to start the front-end phase without compromising the development rhythm.

The user journey was very complex and allowed multiple combinations of paths to navigate over the app. It was important to discover and consider all the paths that the users would be able to take, combined with back-end improvements orientation to keep the timing between the decisions that were being taken.

LEADING THE DESIGN PROCESS AND ORGANIZING THE TEAM'S ROLES

I had to organize the team in a way that we could develop the interface in step with the user research. Thus, part of the team worked on the visual identity, defining typography, colors, and grids, creating illustrations and other components using Grupo Santa’s visual identity as a guide. The other part was responsible for discovering user needs, improving their journeys, and defining the sequence of actions in the app.
