About me
If there was a single word to define me, it would be adaptability. My father worked for the Brazilian Army and we moved more than ten times through my childhood and teenage years. Finally we moved to Brasília, Brazil, when I was 15 years old and things became more stable. I was not born in Brasília, but I feel that my roots are there.
The important fact about these dynamics is that they taught me about diversity, sociability, family and nature. About different cultures, different people and friendship.
I can’t tell you when it was that I became amazed about human behaviour. Maybe It was during these city moves, developing my adaptability. I really don’t know. But I know that human behaviour is something that I am really interested in.
I studied Pharmacy for 2.5 years before I started the Design course. The problem with Pharmacy is that even if I felt super interested in Chemistry, Physiology and Biology, I couldn’t see myself working as a Pharmacist on a daily basis. I wanted to work with something related to creativity (and I know that creativity can be part of any profession, but at that time I wanted something primarily related to it). Then I heard about design, fell in love and now I am here, 10+ years after graduation and more passionate than ever.
How I ended up in Amsterdam
There is a love story in the middle of everything. It started as a teenage friendship and now is a beautiful partnership. And my partner was recruited to work for a Dutch company, then we decided to come together. I didn’t know Amsterdam at that time, but as adaptability is something super present in my life, why not?
Now I am here living in a beautiful ground floor house in the middle of the city, between 2 canals, feeling myself more and more Amsterdammer. I started to appreciate taking care of plants and cooking is a way to solve a feeling that only a Brazilian word can express: Saudade.
And what about work?
You can see my experience via Linkedin or via my CV. I started my path in Branding, but the natural evolution of the products to digital platforms made me migrate to UX and Product Design in a very easy way.
But what I believe it's important to mention at this point is that I really like to work in a collaborative environment, even if I am the only designer. It’s essential for me to feel that the communication flows between everyone that is involved, from colleagues to leaders and clients. And if I can help to build this environment, count on me!
I am also very careful about the people who work with me. I pay attention to the context and try my best to provide a comfortable and fertile scenario while we are working together. One eye on the deadline, the other eye on the team, trying to develop the best situation to balance all the needs.
Furthermore, I am super curious about everything and I truly believe that one of the facts I love more about design is that I can apply the design way of thinking to different kinds of projects, allowing me to learn about a wide range of subjects.
